Whatever the condition is that you come in with, I help with that. I also take a whole person approach because you are more than your condition. Working together we will prioritize your goals and move you toward painless, free and easy movement. We will also reduce the level of your stress effects in the process, leaving you relaxed and ready to deal with life.
I have plenty of techniques to use that fit your needs best. We can do deep tissue massage for specific issues and gentle rocking for overall stress relief. I can also work any area of the body from head to toe and all the joints in between.
The time to get a massage is before something becomes a problem. In other words, massage works best as preventive care.
However, anytime you feel stress, stiffness, or pain is a good time for a massage. There is a meme that says: "massage days are the best days." Anytime is a good time to get a massage.
Here are a few statistics from the American Massage Therapy Association --
* Only 32% of people think massage is for pampering.
* 75% of individuals received a massage for health or wellness (49%) or stress related (26%). Health or wellness reasons included pain relief, soreness, stiffness or spasms, injury recovery, migraines, prevention, pregnancy or prenatal, and general well-being.
I earned my license in 1995. In 2004 I started working with a chiropractor and stayed with him for 17 years until Covid put a damper on that. I estimate performing 15,000 massages for people from age 14-90. I saw x-rays, MRI reports, and conditions that most therapists will never see in their career.
I also started teaching at a massage school in 2004. I taught Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology (the study of muscles and movement), and advanced massage techniques. I stopped teaching when Covid started but I continue to mentor and take courses to stay current.
My current interests involve reintegrating primitive reflexes that were disrupted in physical or emotional trauma. I find this to be true in many whiplash accidents.
